What We Treat

We'd love to share with you our healthcare solution

WE TREAT ILLNESS AND INJURY

Generally, HealthCheck provides broad-spectrum care for (almost) all ages, as well as providing other procedures to create a “less-than-acute” health care solution. We tailor our services to the communities in which we locate a care center.

Our philosophy is that optimal health and performance can be attained through the proper balance of exercise, nutrition, and education. So, one of our goals is to educate our patients as well as treat them.

Our goal is to create a well-rounded experience for each patient to optimize their health.  Please see the list below of the healthcare services we are offering in our flagship care center.

Our Basic Services

There are certain basic services HealthCheck will provide at each Care Center it opens.  These are considered our flagship services that most urgent care centers provide.  The list to the right provides more detail on what we treat.

In the communities in which we locate a care center, there is limited access to these basic services to community members before our arrival.  And despite great demographics, the community members have to drive distances in order to attain these services.

Moreover, based on additional services needed in each community, we will provide a broader level of services to those communities.

Our flagship service treats colds, flu, and other upper respiratory infections, including COVID-19.  The primary reason for urgent care visits is upper respiratory infections, which most commonly means a cold, flu, or COVID - 19.

Since the three symptoms are similar, it can be challenging to determine which affliction is the culprit. A visit to a HealthCheck Care Center is valuable in these cases. Our medical providers can prescribe antibiotic medication or antiviral medication for viral infections to lessen the duration of the illness

A sore throat could indicate a cold, the flu, or COVID - 19, or in some cases, strep throat or mononucleosis. There is no treatment for mononucleosis, but a visit to an urgent care will rule out strep throat or identify any accompanying infections.

A sprained ankle, wrist, or knee are all common reasons for urgent care visits. It is hard to determine whether a wrist or ankle injury could be a sprain or a fracture. A HealthCheck visit will result in the diagnosis and confirm the correct course of treatment.

Muscle injuries like strained hamstrings are commonly seen in those with active lifestyles, like those who work out regularly, athletes, or people with demanding physical jobs. But strains are also common for anybody who overextends themselves (like helping a friend move heavy furniture one weekend!) — causing injuries such as back or shoulder strains.

Accidents happen! Our urgent care centers are the place to go when an accident does not threaten life, limb, or eyesight. Whether a tool slipped and nicked someone’s hand, two players collided on the football field, or a toddler took a tumble, we treat the unexpected twists and turns that life brings! This is for what our urgent care centers were designed, as it is a cheaper and faster alternative to the emergency room.

Gastrointestinal upset can be described as stomach discomfort, vomiting, and diarrhea. The two most common gastrointestinal illnesses that exhibit these symptoms are food poisoning and stomach flu.

We can identify and treat either one of these symptoms.  If the stomach upset results from some other ailment, we can refer you to a well-qualified physician on our roster of referrals.

A UTI is the second most common bacterial infection in the body. No wonder it makes this list of ailments treated at HealthCheck; it affects women primarily. A UTI does not usually go away on its own, so seeing a HealthCheck doctor to rule out other issues - like STDs or yeast infections - and receive antibiotic treatment is advised.

If a woman with symptoms cannot get in to see her OB/GYN quickly, a short visit to HealthCheck is all she needs! A simple urine test at a HealthCheck Center will determine whether a UTI causes symptoms.

Rashes become especially common as the weather warms up and people spend more time outdoors. In the spring and summer months, cases of poison ivy, heat rashes, allergic reactions to skin products, and run-ins with insects all cause an influx of people to urgent care clinics.

In other cases, a rash may be a symptom of an underlying condition, like a severe infection or allergic reaction, especially when accompanied by a fever. Painful or blistering rashes are always cause for medical attention.

While pink eye can clear up on its own, it remains a common reason people visit urgent care, mainly if there are additional symptoms besides the look being pink. Since the source of pink eye can be either bacterial or viral, any possible medication would need to be determined by a doctor to ensure the correct treatment.

Ear infections afflict both children and adults. In adults, since these infections typically do not last more than a couple of days, a visit to an urgent care may be warranted only if it persists for longer or if additional symptoms are present. It is advised that young children and babies always be taken to a doctor if an ear infection is suspected. At HealthCheck NOW Care, we treat youth, and ear infections are a common complaint.

Other Community Benefits

At HealthCheck, we go all-out in finding additional benefits to offer the communities in which we are located.  We explore new and exciting ways to become more connected to the neighborhoods we serve by providing more healthcare services than ever before, including new payer arrangements with patients.

Our payment arrangements, based on fixed rates for basic visits, respond to patients’ need for an affordable healthcare alternative and a sensible approach to healthcare in a changing marketplace.

Our services and healthcare prices will be posted prominently in our Care Centers and on our website once a Care Center is opened.

Other CARE CENTER Services

To provide the services necessary to manage the health of our community members, we will provide additional services based on community needs.  Once we decide to create a care center in a community, we take a deep dive into what is needed and what is missing from the community’s inventory of healthcare services.

RADIOLOGICAL SERVICES

Each HealthCheck Care Center will have digital radiological technology as part of the standard equipment and as a method for diagnosing illnesses, hurts and pains. For example, to diagnose bone breaks, upper respiratory infections, and other urgent care visit complications, we employ digital x-ray machines.  We can store and forward the digital image to a radiologist on staff that will read and diagnose any patient affliction.

If the community needs it, we will invest in upgraded X-ray services.

Watch Now

A laboratory is necessary. It is nearly impossible to have an urgent care center without one. Therefore, we provide point-of-care Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA)-waived rapid tests. Examples include rapid strep, flu, and mono testing that do not require CLIA proficiency testing compared to another moderately complex lab testing.

We may consider the more complex lab testing based on community needs and market research. Many more complex tests are not CLIA-waived and require equipment, including complete blood counts, CBCs, CMP, metabolic profiling, or a SMAC-type test.

ALLERGY TESTING AND TREATMENT

20% of the United States population has allergies, with a limited number of allergists available to treat them. Typically, it may take a long time to get an appointment with an allergist, which may result in those patients ending up in an emergency room or urgent care center. In addition, around 40% or more of our CENTER visits will be respiratory-related, and another good percentage of those patients suffer from allergies. However, there are quality allergy programs in which the testing can be done in-office, as well as the accepted sublingual therapies (if they do not like injections) or injections.

annual Physicals

As part of our atypical urgent care services, we provide annual physicals to community members that need them. Unfortunately, many community members in which we locate a care center are not attuned to preventive care. As part of our community education mandate, we stress the importance of getting an annual physical examination.

So, we provide annual physicals to anyone that may need one. We also offer them to companies in the immediate vicinity as a part of our occupational medicine program and middle schools and high school students that may need a sports physical.

WEIGHT MANAGEMENT

Because illness due to excess weight affects the communities in which we operate, we incorporate weight management programs at our care centers.

Nutrition and a healthy lifestyle are essential life elements to our principles.   Since many traditional physician practices do not offer a full-service line or offer services at all, weight and nutrition management can be an excellent add-on service at our CENTERs. A medically supervised weight program is vastly different from Jenny Craig or other similar programs. The differentiators include specific medical protocols, treatment plans, and the personalized metabolic testing.
