Telemedicine

We'd love to share with you our healthcare solution

Services

HealthCheck offers a telemedicine program that allows on-demand, walk-in, and at home patients to be seen through our telemedicine platform.  Patients in our communities can be seen by our doctors in our bricks and mortar facility or through a virtual visit.

Also, each CARE CENTER includes telemedicine pods so that our B&M facilities can serve as a distant site for our healthcare providers as well as third-party practitioners that subscribe to our co-practice service.

Telemedicine is a two-way communication, i.e., doctor’s visit, consultation, etc., between a patient and a certified doctor or nurse practitioner via an electronic medium, e.g., computer or cell phone.

According to the Accelerate Health 2020 Consumer Telehealth survey, a poll of 2,052 individuals balanced to the U.S. population, 77% survey-takers said they would be willing to use at least one type of telehealth technology once the pandemic has ended. Additionally, 41% of respondents said they would prefer telehealth for specific circumstances once the pandemic is over. However, that still leaves the bulk of survey takers preferring the in-person bricks and mortar care model.

As part of our suite of services, our virtual urgent care center can provide practically the same services that our bricks and mortar care centers provide.  Because of the current pandemic, it sometimes makes sense for the community member to establish a virtual care visit versus a physical visit.  And because of established protocols, we can accomodate the virtual visit.

Technology has changed things

We use state-of-the-art video capture and audio technology in our Care Centers.

What makes telemedicine beneficial to the HealthCheck Model?

With telemedicine, you don’t have to drive to the doctor’s office or clinic; park your car; walk into the clinic; and sit in a waiting room when you’re sick. You can see your doctor from the comfort of your own bed or sofa. Virtual visits can be easier to fit into your busy schedule.

With telemedicine, depending on your schedule, you may not even have to take leave time from work or arrange for child care

Visits with urgent and concierge care practitioners are essential to a community’s health. Telemedicine makes it easy to connect with a doctor or nurse practitioner. Our systems are set up so that community members can engage in a virtual, on-demand visit with the next available practitioner, which can save time and money.

The trend of hospital closures in inner-city neighborhoods, including Southwest Community and Bolton West, has affected thousands of Americans, especially communities of color and community members without health insurance.  HealthCheck bridges the gap.

Telemedicine helps break this cycle by providing a way for people to see a doctor before they get extremely

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, flu and other infectious diseases, doctors can use telehealth appointments to prescreen patients for possible infectious disease. It also saves sick community members from having to come in to the office. Less exposure to other community members’ germs helps everyone, especially those who are chronically ill, pregnant, elderly or immunocompromised.

When consulting with your doctor, it’s always good to have a family member who can help you provide information, ask questions and take note of your doctor’s answers. If that person lives out of town, or even across the country, telemedicine can loop your family member in on the virtual visit if you authorize it.

Hours-long waits in hospital and doctors’ waiting rooms with other patients can contribute to the spread of COVID-19, the flu, and other viruses. Telehealth keeps patients at home, avoiding exposure to viruses and germs. This helps protect medical professionals as well.

Telemedicine can give some specialty practitioners an advantage because they can see you in your home environment. For example, allergists may be able to identify clues in your surroundings that cause allergies and neurologists and physical and occupational therapists can observe you and assess your ability to navigate and take care of yourself in your home.

Telemedicine is also a good way to get mental health assessment and counseling.

Not having adequate health insurance can be an obstacle to seeing a doctor. Many online companies provide cash-pay telemedicine, which doesn’t require health insurance or referrals.

Our T-Pods, or Telemedicine Pods, will be used by our healthcare providers so that we can treat our virtual patients privately.  They can also be used by third-party healthcare providers on a subscription basis.  The subscription services works similarly to the co-working concept.  We aim to have at least two T-Pods in each Care Center we operate.

The inclusion of T-Pods will be based on whether the local community can support the use of this service.
